All about PD's!

If you wear prescription glasses you may have heard the term "PD" thrown around when discussing your eyewear. Not really sure what it means? Don't worry, you're not alone.

Here at Holtsee we're all about taking the confusion out of prescriptions!

Let's talk PD's.

WHAT IS A PD?

Pupillary distance (PD) measures the distance between the centers of your pupils. This measurement is used to determine where you look through the lens of your glasses and should be as accurate as possible. The average adult’s PD is between 54-74 mm; kids' are between 43-58 mm.

Your Optometrist will usually measure your PD during an eye exam. However, often they don't write it down on your prescription.

HOW TO GIVE US YOUR PD?

If it is written on your prescription, perfect, you're all good to go! If it isn't on your prescription, and it's often not, we have you covered too.

Simply select "find my PD" when uploading your prescription and follow the prompts to use our easy & accurate PD Measuring Tool. It just takes 30 seconds and all you need is a standard magnetic card. We love a PD selfie!
